Located in a cobblestoned street steeped in history, the building that houses The Rocks' Caminetto restaurant is one of the original terrace houses in Sydney's old quarter. Here you can enjoy delicious home-style Italian food at reasonable prices.

Tucked away underneath a sandstone escarpment on a cobble-stoned street in The Rocks, Caminetto Italian Restaurant is a welcoming eatery that exudes cosy charm teamed with classic home-style fare. Housed in one of this historic district’s original sandstone terraces, Caminetto brings the past and the present together within its burgundy coloured dining room and relaxing alfresco area. The rustic decor and the aroma of cooking coming from the kitchen have led many regulars to comment that dining at Caminetto is about as close as you can get to a trattoria in Italy without jumping on a plane.

The chef at Caminetto, Italo, has been rattling the pans here for 15 years, which is as long as the restaurant has been open. Simple, fresh flavours showcased in traditional Italian dishes have won many fans on the menu. Begin with sizzling garlic prawns or an antipasto platter before making your choice from the pizza, pasta and succulent meat dishes on offer. Chef Italo recommends the pasta platter for two, which comes with a glass of wine or sangria for each diner, or tuck into the beef tenderloin with a brandy-laced peppercorn sauce. The tiramisu at Caminetto is famously good, and is just the thing to finish the evening with. Live music adds to the atmosphere on Thursday through to Sunday nights.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE
Beautifully decorated in rich, warm terracotta and wine red, Caminetto reflects modern Italian style and serves up a damn good brunch. The food at Caminetto is wholesome and traditional, from the home made pasta to the scrumptious pizzas to the chef's delectable daily specials. The menu has been put together with that certain Mediterranean flair all served by friendly Italian staff. Caminetto has always been a favourite spot in The Rocks for al fresco dining and now they are open for breakfast.

Caminetto offers live music Friday through to Sunday evening. Kids will love the food at Caminetto as well as the mums and dads.

Functions up to 200 catered for with two private rooms upstairs for groups of up to 70 Set menus start at $42 per person.
