PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAEvery day is a party at this delightful, fun-loving cafe, newly opened (and already beloved) in Dickson. With it’s bright, fresh interiors, pleasant outdoor tables and wonderful service staff, Spill the Beans is that rare thing – a cafe that is stylish without being pretentious, where food and service are both lovingly handled and extraordinarily good. Inside, cheerful reds contrast with muted shades of grey, black and white, with beautifully framed prints on the walls and furniture in rich wood, leather and chrome. The entire place has a slightly avant-garde appeal, and many customers can be seen happily whiling away a good hour or two, reading or working on laptops, reclined against the gorgeous leather sofas.
Indeed, with homemade, old-fashioned cakes and slices (when was the last time you tried a chocolate crackle?) and a fresh, made on-the-premises menu that changes daily (so as not to bore the regulars); there must be patrons who come in here and never want to leave again. The staff at Spill the Beans clearly love what they do, providing service which goes beyond personable and is actually personal, merry and effortlessly cheering. Drop in for a cup of Dane’s gourmet coffee (from Sydney- this is the only Canberran cafe to stock it) and enjoy the fabulous service. You’ll find that you keep coming back again and again and again.
