For a fun-filled day that the whole family can enjoy, join the throng of happy-makers and take the hour’s drive out of the city and up to Fintona Girls School. The school puts on a jolly good show every year for their annual Tourmont Food and Wine Festival and this November will be no exception. Don’t be fooled by its institutional location – this event goes above and beyond any regular school fete and is a much awaited occasion by many. It is, in fact, a gourmet bonanza featuring over 40 stalls to tempt those looking to fill their bellies with delectable nosh. The Lexus Cafe will ensure that any caffeine fiends are kept at bay, and will also supply delicious little cakes and things that marry perfectly with a latte.
After sampling the fine regional wines, delicious food, boutique beers and devilishly good sweet treats on offer, take a tour of the famous Tourmont house on Balwyn Hill before heading to the sunny beer and wine gardens for an afternoon tipple. There are plenty of things to entertain the kids such as cooking classes, face painting, craft activities and the boundless hours of fun one can get from a jumping castle.
